The difference between the Llama and Sherpa is an additional pocket, as seen in the photo below.

The fingerloop is positioned at the bottom of the bag and the D-Ring is positioned just above the pocket.

Leather tassles have been added to the zippers to provide a thoughtful, functional, and authentic touch.

The 8 inch opening provides ample room for a full set of clubs.

A single divider separates your woods and irons.

As you can see in the photo below, a half set takes up very little space.

It makes you wonder why modern carry bags have so many dividers.

A Water Bottle holder has been attached to the area between the pockets.

The sleeve has been designed to accomodate a 27 oz Klean Kanteen Classic water bottle to help you stay hydrated throughout the round.

The Llama is clearly a simple and stylish golf bag that provides everything a walking golfer needs to enjoy a round.

A MacKenzie badge sits below the handle on every bag, just to confirm that it is the real thing.

The Llama, like all MacKenzie products, is hand-made in Portland, OR by skilled stitchers who take tremendous pride in their work.

This bag is not mass produced in a factory on another continent, but constructed by hand, with care, in the United States, which is why we sell each bag with a five year guarantee.

If the nylon tears or if you have stitching or construction issues with the bag, just return it to MacKenzie and it will be repaired for free.

Our goal is to provide you, a fellow walking golfer, with a quality product that can be carried for many years with pride, not replaced on an annual basis due to broken/bent legs, torn fabric, broken zippers, or any of the other problems we all tend to have with “modern” golf bags after a season or two.

The Walking Golfer is excited to partner with The MacKenzie Golf Bag Company, as they have been providing passionate walking golfers with premium product since 1985.

Please remember that 10% of every sale will go to The First Tee Program.

  1. Two questions—- Is the bag available in any colors other than black (dark green, for example)? Is it possible to pick the bag up in Portland?

  2. The Llama and Sherpa are only available in black ballistic nylon. The leather Walker and Sunday bag can be fully customized (and they are significantly more expensive).

The bag can certainly be picked up in Portland.

    Thanks for your questions!

  3. Hi Bruce – It usually takes about four weeks for a Llama or Sherpa to ship – unless there is a finished bag in the shop already. Thanks for the question. Rob

  4. Hi, I am interested in the Llama Golf Bag black. Could you please sent me further details of size, price, possibilities etc. and – could I order one (some) for retailling in Germany.
    Best regards

  5. I am interested in purchasing the Llama bag for my husband, for Christmas.
Please let me know how I can order, it is not on MacKenzie’s site.
    Thank you,
    Vanessa

  6. Is it possible to convert this bag into a stand bag. Thanks

  7. I was able to obtain a Llama this summer before a group trip to Scotland (Thanks to Rob for the assist!).

It was perfect for the trip. Great for saving energy carrying my clubs on the course for 14 rounds in 10 days! The agility of the bag design and single strap made it a breeze to carry form the bus to hotel room ( driver did not want clubs left in luggage holds overnight for security reasons).

With the Lllama, I was able to put my golf gear and a lot of clothes in my club glove–it was my only checked luggage saving on baggage fees–plus much easier to deal with in the airports and through the lines at customs. Considering what i saved in baggage fees and push cart rental fees I have it 2/3 paid for in savings 🙂

I asked for one small modification in the bag to reduce wear on my graphite iron shafts and the service I received was great. Thom at MacKenzie is great to work with.

I am very pleased with my Llama.

  8. mackenzie sewed a smooth leather strip at the top front edge of the bag so shafts would not be against the ballistic nylon which is minimally abrasive

  9. Is it possible to purchase carry straps with one of your bags? Also, how much are the bags?

  10. Looking for his and hers llamas. How much does each one cost and r any even if one, ready to be shipped for mid may badly present.

  11. Hi Kenneth – I have passed your comment along to MacKenzie – you can also contact them at info @ themackenziegolfbagcompany.com – Thx!

  12. You can use it to help balance the bag – It’s a bit cosmetic – a nice touch.

  13. Thaks Rob. I rodered a Llama from the Bandon site and can’t wait to use it.

    Far and sure.

  14. I put the shoulder strap over my right shoulder with the bottom of the bag facing forward, top facing behind me. I know this sounds counter-intuitive, but when I reach out and put my finger in the loop and swing the bag around, the bag seems almost weightless and very well balanced. Enjoy the walk.
