I had a chance to walk 36 holes at Chambers on Monday. What a truly amazing course. The greens were firm and fast and we played in the morning in a two-and-a-half club wind. Challenging to say the least. I had to play some of the craziest, linksiest shots ever from all over the property. If you get to play with locals like I did, you won't need a caddy. The replay rate is dead cheap, and you'll save five strokes from your first round. The course is as walkable as any, but my feet were still hamburger by the end. The staff at Chambers were first rate, and treated me like a king, even though they see PGA pros on a regular basis. The course and it's staff are accessible and world class. What a day. I can't stop smiling.

Playing at Chambers Bay was truly the most enjoyable day of golf I have ever experienced.
To have a caddie was a great treat; he probably saved me half a dozen strokes, and found all but one of my wayward shots. Even though I've never played golf in the British Isles, I can still brag that I've played one of the best links courses in the world.
