Someone must be joking about the Koolau golf course rating. I golf there every week, and it is definitely not easy to walk. Even the juniors walk 9 holes, not the eighteen. The course is hilly, with ups and downs, its usually slippery and soft, because of the amount of rain, and the distances between greens and the next tee box is not close, in many cases.

Mr. Morita’s comments above are correct; Ko’olau is not really a walking course. It is a course similar to Princeville-Prince (RTJones Jr) on Kauai. Along with Royal Hawaiian (Pete Dye) on Oahu, the three courses are difficult jungle courses with ravines, forced carries and some extended stretches between holes and within holes. As such, all are essentially unwalkable, except in special circumstances. Interesting to play and certainly memorable, but not for walking. Where is the input section of this website? There are good walking courses in Hawaii; would be nice to submit those for consideration and discussion.
